UPDATE - 08/22/13 - 5:03 PM -
No word on any arrests for the vandalism and theft at the Dane County Humane Society. But there is some good news.
The Dane County Humane Society says people have donated $1,500 since news came out yesterday that someone broke a window, damaged a collection box and stole donated money at the animal facility.
Madison Police are investigating a break-in at the Dane Co. Humane Society. Organizers say a donation box was targeted.
Officers say an intrusion alarm went off just before 1 am today (Wednesday). A front window at the shelter was shattered. Someone carried a donation box outside and smashed it on the ground. It appears that there is no other damage or stolen property. All of the animals at the shelter are safe and unharmed.
