On Thursday, September 20, 2013 at 9:58 p.m. Cottage Grove Police responded to a robbery at the Stop and Go, 1100 N. Windsor Ave, in the Village.

Two men jumped over the counter, pushing store clerk to the floor. The clerk was ordered to open the register and safe. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise.

No weapon was used or threatened, and the clerk was not injured in the altercation.

The two suspects are described as two black men, approximately 5’9"-6’0" tall, with a thin build, in their early 20’s.

One subject was described as wearing a dark hoodie, dark jogging type pants, dark baseball style cap and a black scarf covering his mouth and nose.

The second suspect was described as wearing a lighter colored hoodie and jogging style pants, a baseball cap and a white scarf over his mouth and nose.

Police were assisted by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and their canine. Police refused to provide further comment since the matter is still under investigation.
