RACINE, Wis. (AP) _ Police have cited 12 Racine women for blocking a street outside U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan's office during an immigration protest.

The protesters called on Ryan Friday to work for speedy immigration reform and to stop deportations.

The women sat in the middle of the road in front of the Janesville Republican's downtown Racine office. Police blocked off the road and allowed the women to address a crowd of several dozen.

One of the women says some of her children have been waiting in Mexico for 17 years for their visas to be approved.

The protest was organized by the Milwaukee-based immigrant rights group Voces de la Frontera.

The protest lasted about an hour until the women willingly moved out of the street.
