Madison Police have arrested 27-year-old Tyrone Isaac Jr. in connection to the death of 25-year-old Darren Goodwan, who shot early Saturday morning on West Badger Road.

Isaac was arrested in Colorado on September 2nd.

With this arrest, Chief Mike Koval is urging community members to get involved in finding ways to curb the gun violence that is becoming a citywide problem in Madison.

Tyrone Isaac was arrested by Madison Police as a suspect in this weekends fatal shooting on the city's southside. Madison police chief Mike Koval saying today that Isaac and the victim, 25 year old Darren Goodwan, appeared to be acquaintances.

09/02/2014 UPDATE: Madison Police Chief Mike Koval believes it is just a matter of time before an arrest is made in last week's murder of a 25 year old man on the South Side. Darren Goodwan of Madison was found laying on West Badger Road early Saturday morning.


Police had been called to the area for a fight that involved several dozen people, which led to the shooting.


Koval doesn't name the suspect, who police believe is no longer in the area.




Authorities responded to badger road after three a.m. to someone lying in the street from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police confirm the victim as a 25 year-old African American male.

Police say there were lots of people at the scene, and they are close to catching the suspect.

"We don't believe this person will be at at large for an extended period of time. We believe that we are narrowing our focus," said Police Chief Mike Koval with the City of Madison.

Details released about the incident itself are minimal from authorities, but it is known there were lots of people around at the time of the crime.

"Since so many people were present at the time this incident occurred, that we will get some help from the community. family, friends, wherever we can find it," said Chief Koval.

One person is dead after a shooting on Madison's south side.

Authorities were called to the 700 block of West Badger Rd. near West Badger Liquor to reports of shots fired.

A caller in the area said they heard gunshots around 3:30 Saturday morning.

Madison Fire, EMS and Town of Madison Police responded to the scene.

No word yet on the identity of the victim or suspect.
