'Childhood Sweethearts' Die In Car Accident Minutes After Getting Married

A young Texas couple was killed in a tragic car accident minutes after they got married. Harley Morgan, 19, and Rhiannon Boudreaux, 20, were "childhood sweethearts" who were deeply in love with each other and excited to start their life together. They decided to tie the knot in a courthouse ceremony while planning a reception with their friends and family around Christmas.

After they were married by Orange County Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose-Simonton, the couple left the courthouse and collided with a pickup truck as they pulled out of the parking lot.

"I'm talking five minutes. You may kiss the bride," said Orange Police Cpt. Keith Longlois. "The family was right behind them. They were all going out to go to wherever they were going to have their reception."

The couple was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dubose-Simonton.

Harley's mother, Kennia, described the heart-wrenching accident to KFDM-TV.

"I watched my baby die. I'm still wearing my son's blood because I was trying my best to rip him and her out of the car," Kennia said. "That's an image that will haunt me the rest of my life. I won't forget it. It will never go away. I will see that truck hit my baby and kill my baby every night of my life, the rest of the time that I'm on earth."

Authorities are investigating the tragic accident. The truck driver was not hurt in the crash, and officials say there is no sign of wrongdoing.
