Phil Collins Says Genesis Won't Exist Past 2021

Genesis is hitting the road for the first time in 14 years, and apparently also the last time ever. Phil Collins says that "The Last Domino? Tour" will be fans' last chance to see them live.

In the latest issue of "Mojo", Phil is asked about what the question mark in the tour name suggests, if Genesis will end with 2021. Phil replies, "Yes, the question mark was Tony Banks' idea." He's counting himself out of any more tours after that due to his health, although he wishes he could "be playing up there with [his] son" Nic Collins.

It looks like Banks is still optimistic, however, telling "Mojo" that he still thinks the band could continue. "I think it depends on a little bit how it goes, how Phil stands up to it all," he adds. "How the audience receives it, and how we all feel about it, really."

It's important to note as well that after the band's last reunion tour Phil suffered severe nerve damage that left him no longer able to drum at the pace required so it's easy to understand why Phil be hesitant to return to the stage only as a lead singer.

As with all farewell tours in the rock and roll world only time will tell.
