The Sylvee: Deck The Wall: A Cassette Tape Art Project

The Sylvee: Deck The Wall: A Cassette Tape Art Project

A Benefit for UW Carbone Cancer Center

Born out of a passion for live music, The Sylvee is named in tribute to Sylvia Frank, matriarch of the Frank family. The Franks moved to Madison in 1964, the same year the cassette tape was introduced to the U.S.

Inspired by this, FPC Live is collaborating with their friends at ZEBRADOG to build a mural of Sylvia inside The Sylvee, made entirely out of cassette tapes.

To make this beautiful project happen, they’ll need to compile between 5,000-10,000 tapes. Specifically, pre-recorded artist album tapes (not blank or mixed tapes). Cassette tape cases not needed.

In memory of Sylvia who passed away in 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer, FPC Live will donate 50 cents per cassette tape received to the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
