These Outtakes of Robin Williams And Elmo On Sesame Street Are Hilarious

It’s been a long week – you deserve a good laugh, right?

If you had kids or were a kid yourself in the heyday of Sesame Street, you probably remember the classic skit where the late, great comedian Robin Williams gives Elmo a stick and teaches him about the unlimited power of imagination. It’s one of the best.

In honor of #FlashbackFriday, here’s a hilarious outtake compilation video from that skit. In one take, while he is improvising all the things a simple stick can become, Williams references a fictitious “lingerie melody” from Madonna, then breaks into giggles and says “we’ll never be able to do that!” The highlight, though, is when Elmo mistakenly refers to Williams as “Mr. Robbins,” while accepting the stick. Williams pauses for a second, then says “Mr. Robbins? I’m taking the stick back, Elmo,” while playfully storming off the set. The whole crew erupts in laughter from off screen and Elmo slinks away, in shame.

All these years later, Robin Williams is still making us laugh out loud. Happy Friday.
