Foos Tell Fans To Exit NY Venue

Lightning is being blamed for the abrupt end of the Foo Fighters debut performance at Citi

Field in Queens, New York. According to fans, the band was performing “Everlong” when severe storms swept through the area Wednesday evening, bringing heavy downpours and flooding that disrupted the show. At 10:33pm EST, the official X/Twitter account of Citi Field issued a message stating: “Unfortunately due to the continued presence of lightning in the area, tonight’s show has concluded. Please exit the venue and have a safe night.”

The band later released a statement saying, “We are so disappointed that we were unable to play our full set for tonight’s fantastic crowd at Citi Field. But the safety of our fans, the crew and everyone working in the stadium comes first, so when it was determined that there was no safe way to continue the show in this dangerous weather, we had no choice but to call it a night. We’re grateful for every second we were able to play for you and looking forward to seeing you again, maybe as soon as Friday!”

Eddie Vedder Drops Solo Tune

Sammy Hagar Wants To Meet The Cop Who Inspired 'I Can't Drive 55'

Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55" was inspired by a real-life speeding ticket - and he'd love to track down the officer who gave it to him. He says it was a New York state trooper who pulled him over at 2 in the morning for going 62 in a 55 mph zone. Hagar told the Times-Union he'd love to find that trooper now: "This man would be backstage with his family and he would be treated like a king... I would do a shot with him, I’ll take pictures, I’ll give him a swag bag. I might bring him out on stage and introduce him." The New York State Police has even tried to find the officer, but his identity remains a mystery for now.

STEVEN TYLER: Among the Worst

In light of country singer Ingrid Andress butchering the national anthem Monday at Major League Baseball's Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas -- she blamed it on being drunk and is now in rehab -- Billboard has compiled a list of the "The 12 Worst National Anthem Performances Ever."

While 11 of the artists listed can lay claim to one bad performance, Steven Tyler is credited with two. The first was in 2001 at the Indianapolis 500, with the second coming in 2012 at the AFC Championship Game.

As for the rest of the list, it consists of mainly pop singers:

1. Kat Deluna - 2008 Dallas Cowboys game

2. Roseanne Barr - 1990 San Diego Padres game

3. Fergie - 2018 NBA All Star Weekend

4. Ingrid Andress - 2024 MLB Home Run Derby

5. Michael Bolton - 2003 Boston Red Sox game

6. Scott Stapp - 2005 NASCAR Ford 400

7. Aaron Neville, Aretha Franklin & Dr. John - 2006 Super Bowl 40

8. Steven Tyler - 2001 Indianapolis 500 & 2012 AFC Championship Game

9. R. Kelly - 2005 boxing match

10.Christina Aguilera - 2011 Super Bowl 45

11.Keri Hilson - 2010 Los Angeles Lakers game

12.Jesse McCartney - 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race

FACES: All Boxed Up

The Faces have taken all their BBC recordings and compiled them in a box set. Faces At the BBC — Complete BBC Concert & Session Recordings 1970-1973 contains eight CDs and one Blu-ray with all the recordings recovered from the band's archives and private collections. Only one BBC session of three songs remains missing. Rarities include a stereo mix of the May 13th, 1971, Paris Cinema concert, which was only broadcast in mono, and a February 1973 show that was never aired due to the BBC’s concerns over the band’s on-stage banter with the rowdy audience.

The Blu-ray includes newly restored footage of their April 1972 appearance on Sounds for Saturday. There is also a 48-page booklet that details every BBC session, concert, and broadcast, with new commentary from surviving band members and archival quotes from Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan, and BBC broadcaster John Peel who championed the band and was instrumental in securing their first BBC session on March 9th, 1970. Rod Stewart says, “If it wasn’t for John Peel, the Faces would never have broken through.” And Ronnie Wood adds, “He gave the Faces our first break.”

Among the songs on this set are “Bad ’n’ Ruin,” “Had Me a Real Good Time,” “Miss Judy’s Farm,” “Too Bad,” and “Stay With Me.” Also included are some of Stewart's solo songs that the band performed, including, “(I Know) I’m Losing You” and “Maggie May.” With this news comes the release of "Stay With Me," live on Sounds for Saturday, April 1st, 1972. You can see it on YouTube.

Faces At the BBC — Complete BBC Concert & Session Recordings 1970-1973 will be released on September 6th.

Neal Schon Says Journey's Future Is Bright

Neal Schon is reflecting on Journey’s five decades in rock. In a new interview, the guitarist said, "I'm very proud of the work that we've all done and what we've accomplished. And the future is very bright."

When asked about bands like Bon Jovi and Def Leppard producing tracks that followed Journey's playbook of "extremely catchy, great choruses, explosive power-rock chords, lyrics and singalongs," Schon said: "It's funny you say that, but when we used to play on the East Coast, we played multiple dates in New Jersey and Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora would come down and they'd check out the show and I'd always say hello. And then the next thing you would know, if we were playing like a cover song, like '[Reach Out] I'll Be There' by The Four Tops, they would end up putting it in their set. It was funny. But it was inspiring. They were inspired by it, like we all are by whoever."

Britney Spears Slams Ozzy Osbourne After Dancing Criticism, Defends Kate Beckinsale

Britney Spears responded strongly to the Osbourne family's criticism of her dancing videos on Instagram, calling them the "most boring family known to mankind" and telling them to "kindly f--k off." The singer, known for her resilience and strength, emphasized the importance of supporting each other and helping souls grow. Ozzy Osbourne and his family made the comments on their podcast, with Kelly Osbourne expressing sympathy for Spears. Britney starts by defending Kate, writing ... "I adore Kate Beckinsale especially because she's from London. I realized how incredibly cruel people were talking about her IG saying she needs more age-appropriate content."

Britney says she dances because she's excellent at it and likes it, then takes a shot at Ozzy and his family, saying, "I'm gonna do a photoshoot with Kate and tell the Osbourne family, the most boring family known to mankind, to kindly f*** off!!!"

Sharon Osbourne Says Bruce Dickinson Was Jealous Of Ozzy

Sharon Osbourne is continuing to lash out at Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson.

In a new interview, Osbourne talked about Iron Maiden’s final headlining performance during the 2005 Ozzfest run. Sharon started off by saying it was all on Dickinson’s shoulders and that the rest of the band was pleasant to work with. She explained, “It was just the singer. The other guys in the band are great, great people. No problem at all. But when you’ve got a singer that is so eaten up with jealousy for the headliner, it never goes well.”

She also recalled getting Dickinson pelted with food during the band’s final night on the tour.

She said, “I had been having cancer treatments, and all the nurses that I had met over my year in chemo came to the show and they said, ‘Can we do anything for you?’ And I’m, like, ‘Yes, you can.’ I loaded them up with cans of bean soup, vegetables, eggs, and I said, ‘Pelt the singer.’ And that’s what they did.”

THE GREAT SPACE BALLOON RACE HAS HEATED UP

The great space balloon race is underway, and you can be a part of it if you have $50K…to start. Currently, there are at least three companies “racing to get into the space balloon game,” so they can float customers 15-to-19-miles into the atmosphere for a space-eyed view of the Earth below. France’s Zephalto, Florida’s Space Perspective, and Arizona’s World View all seem to have “the same general plan” on how they’ll be able to accomplish this and get customers into the sky. At this point, Zephalto appears to be in the lead, as they’re the company that’s already been able to “conduct a crewed test flight.” While 50 miles is technically where space is said to “start,” anything over 98K feet is considered a “spaceship,” and hitting the 19-mile mark would accomplish that.

MAN CAVE MUST-HAVES AND STATISTICS

If a guy lives in a family home setting, having a man cave to call his own is an important way to stay grounded and sane. Putting together a proper man cave is a uniquely individual experience, and it should reflect his interests, passions, and comfort needs. Plus, it gives him a place to host the guys for a proper guy’s hang.

· As far as location, 56% of men surveyed say the ideal location for any man cave is in the basement

· Overwhelmingly, sports themes are the way to go, followed by gaming, a bar design, hunting, movies, sci-fi, and biker themes

· The standard price tag men are willing to shell out for their perfect man cave is around $10K

· When it comes to man cave must-haves, those desires seem to fluctuate with age. The Boomers say that a fully stocked bar is mandatory. Gen Z wants their man caves to have exercise equipment. Millennials want a quality gaming system. Gen X wants a variety of television sets.

Among all ages, the man cave requirement list breaks down like this:

· Sound System (47%)

· One or more televisions (42%)

· Game Consoles (40%)

· Fully stocked bar (29%)

· Dart Board (24%)

· Pool Table (21%)

Of course, there’s other décor to consider, such as an entertainment center to put your electronics on, comfortable seating with recliners, cup holders, and easy-to-clean upholstery, room and gear for a poker table set up if the situation presents itself, a beer fridge or kegerator, and shelves to display all the cool crap you’ve collected for yourself over the years so you can show off.

SHORT BURSTS OF EVENING EXERCISE CAN HELP YOU SLEEP LONGER

Around one in seven Americans report struggling to fall asleep most nights, according to the CDC. While research suggests that a sedentary lifestyle can be a factor in poor sleep quality, after a long day at work, many of us would rather just relax on the sofa than go for a run or hit the gym. But it turns out, taking a break from being a couch potato in the evening to do a few easy exercises could actually help us sleep better.

A new study finds that a simple exercise routine before bed may lead to sleeping a half hour longer. We’re not talking about a vigorous workout, just short bursts of light activity done throughout the evening. Researchers from the University of Otago in New Zealand found that a three-minute circuit of exercises that get you up and moving instead of sitting are all it takes. The thing is, they need to be done every half hour for four hours.

· Each three-minute “activity break” includes three sets of exercises - chair squats, calf raises and standing knee raises with straight leg hip extensions - done for 20 seconds each.

· Researchers chose these exercises because they don’t require equipment or a lot of space and they can be done while watching TV, but they say you could probably get the same benefit from just moving around the house, dancing, or doing chores.

· After doing the short bursts of exercise in the evening people slept an average of 30 minutes longer.

· "Whatever activity works best for you and your household is beneficial,” explains study author Jennifer Gale. “The key thing is that any interruption in evening prolonged sitting is better than none."

HOW FAR PARENTS WILL GO TO SAVE ON SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Raising children doesn’t come cheap and back-to-school time is a solid reminder of that. That time of year is when kids need pretty much everything from new shoes and clothes to new supplies for the school year and the expense of all it adds up fast. That’s why some parents are willing to do all kinds of things to cut down on back-to-school costs.

A new survey of 2-thousand U.S. parents of elementary school kids reveals:

· Three-quarters would be willing to try “any” workaround to save money on school supplies.

· Staying under budget is the top priority for 77% of parents.

· The most common ways they try to keep costs down include buying school supplies whenever they go on sale during the year (49%), shopping at multiple stores to find the best deal (45%), hoarding school supplies throughout the year (37%) and shopping only when there’s a good deal (34%).

· But some parents are willing to try extreme couponing (22%), looking around the house for half-used items (16%), joining buy-nothing groups on social media (10%), trading supplies with other parents (9%) and a few would go so far as to try dumpster diving (5%) for school supplies.

· Another 12% admit to stealing supplies from their workplace to give kids for school.

· More than half (57%) would consider buying some supplies in bulk with a group of other parents and splitting the costs, for supplies like pens and pencils (67%), art supplies (59%), notebooks (58%), folders (54%), and desk accessories (47%).

· Overall, parents expect to spend an average of $280 on school supplies this year.

· While 95% of respondents prefer including their kids when shopping, 64% say they spend more when their kids are with them, an extra $101 on supplies, on average.

· Nearly half (44%) of parents say they’d consider just giving their kids money to buy their own supplies, but a lot of them think their kids would just buy snacks (42%), candy (38%) and games (33%) instead.

Tinder Can Now Pick Your Profile Photo For You

Dating app Tinder is introducing an AI-powered feature called Photo Selector to help users choose the best pics for their dating profiles. The tool uses facial recognition to curate a diverse selection of images, aiming to increase users’ chances of finding a match. The process is conducted on the user's device and doesn’t require the user to upload their camera roll to Tinder's systems. The rollout for iOS and Android devices is set to begin in the U.S. this month, with international availability expected later in the summer.

Disney World Replaces Character After 50 Years Over Concerns It Could Offend Alcoholics

Disney World recently removed the long-time character Liver Lips McGrowl from the "Country Bear Jamboree" attraction after more than 50 years due to concerns that the character could be offensive to alcoholics and culturally insensitive. Liver Lips will be replaced by Romeo McGrowl, who has a similar appearance but with a different persona. The change is part of a broader move at Disney to update and fix outdated or insensitive elements in its attractions. The revamped attraction will feature a new script and a soundtrack, produced and arranged by country singer-songwriter Mac McNally, which includes country versions of popular Disney songs and a new original piece, while keeping the original closing number, “Come Again.”

Whole Foods Intros Program To Cut Down On Food Waste

The program allows customers to purchase bags filled with prepared foods or bakery items at a significant discount via the Too Good To Go app. The initiative is part of Whole Foods' broader efforts to reduce food waste by 2030, providing an environmentally conscious choice for shoppers. The collaboration also highlights the global impact of food waste and the efforts being made to combat it.

MUFON SAYS IT HAS ALIEN METAL SAMPLE

UFO investigation group MUFON, which stands for the Mutual UFO Network, showed off a sample of what they say is alien metal this week. The scraps of metal, lighter than a flower petal and gold-tinged, were brought out for the first time at the MUFON International Symposium in Irving, Texas, and the group says that tests with NASA-grade tech showed that it was 90-percent unidentifiable.

Where did they get it? The samples were found by a Russian researcher named Arkady, who said the samples “appeared” in his house after he was contacted by a non-human entity who told him it came from a crashed UFO. The organization says there was more than what they displayed, but claim that the additional samples were stolen from a US Post Office Box after the finder tried to mail them from Russia to the US. According to MUFON’s Media Relations Director Ron James, “This is typical with evidence of this nature.”

SOMEONE DISCOVERED THE "NOTHING PHONE" HAS AN X-RAY CAMERA

There’s absolutely no way this could lead to problems. The Nothing company released the CMF Phone 1 last week, and an Instagram user who goes by @purely_maxwell posted a reel claiming that he found a way to turn the phone’s camera into an “X-Ray” device that can see through objects. He demonstrated on his television remote, but it could be faked for the video, right?

Wrong. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis posted on X to brag about the “knowledgeable and crafty users” of their products and explained that the phone has a depth sensor that includes infrared light that can sometimes see through black objects. Before you get too excited with dreams of having a portable X-ray machine in your pocket, he also said “We will restrict third-party apps from accessing the depth sensor output through a software update expected within a week.”

VIRGINIA WOMAN WINS LOTTERY SIX TIMES IN ONE DAY

There’s lucky, there’s really lucky, and then there’s Latoya Burke. The Virginia woman bought six tickets for the Pick 5 game from the Virginia Lottery on June 5th, and used the same five numbers for all of the tickets. The numbers she picked were the winners for that drawing, which means she won $30,000…per ticket.

The winning numbers were 5-5-5-5-0, and Burke bought “50/50” tickets, which gave her $30,000 per ticket for a total prize of $180,000. When asked about her win when she went to pick up her winnings, she said, “I checked the numbers, and I was happy,” which might be the understatement of the year.

Michigan Man Wins Record Fantasy 5 Jackpot

A Michigan man who plays the Fantasy 5 lottery every day has finally seen his perseverance pay off. The 56-year-old Macomb County resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, has matched all five numbers to win the $963,040 jackpot – the largest in the history of the game, according to Michigan Lottery officials. "When I saw the winning ticket was purchased at the store where I usually play, I called my wife,” the man says. “That night, my wife and I looked the ticket over together, and that’s when I found out I was the big winner! I didn’t know how to feel at first because I didn’t believe it was real. Now that it’s finally sunk in, it feels great!"

He says he plans on using the money to buy a new vehicle, a new home, and a cottage.

Sheep Ingest 100kg Of Cannabis In Greenhouse

There’s a flock of sheep in Greece that’s clearly down to party. After wildfires and floods wiped out grazing areas were destroyed, the sheep had to graze somewhere. So, they found a greenhouse that was housing medicinal marijuana and went to work. In total, over 100kg (220 pounds) of weed was consumed. After their “bud buffet,” the sheep began “exhibiting strange behavior” and were even seen “jumping higher than the goats…which never happens.”

Minnesota Legislators Fail To Close Loophole That Allows Triple-Digit Interest

In Minnesota, there’s a legal loophole that allows out-of-state money lenders to charge triple-digit interest on customers. Attempts to enact “stronger measures” to control this have failed in the state legislature, which means, right now, some people are paying up to 348% interest on loans of even $1,000…which puts the borrowers at risk of “a never-ending cycle of debt.” It’s not just in Minnesota, though. Nationwide, some lenders known as “rent-a-bank” attract people in need of “emergency cash” and use the federal loophole to get around interest rate limits. If you’re in need of a quick-cash loan, make sure you’re reading the fine print so you know how much interest you might be getting gouged for.

Five-Hour Bathroom Visit Leaves Man To Snack Away In Closed Walgreen’s

At around 20 minutes before closing time, Chrisopher Morgan allegedly paid a visit to a New Smyrna Beach, Florida Walgreen’s bathroom…and didn’t come out for five hours. The store closed at 10pm, and police say Morgan didn’t leave the restroom until 2:42am. At that point, Morgan reportedly helped himself to some “Tostito’s spinach dip, chips, Reese’s and Ghirardelli chocolate, Dr. Pepper, and a pack of Newport cigarettes.” When taken into custody, Morgan allegedly resisted and told police, “I came in here to use the bathroom” and then “spit on an officer once inside the vehicle.”

Companies Sued For Requiring Female Job Applicants To Have Pregnancy Tests

Prosecutors in China have filed lawsuits against sixteen companies, accusing them of “requiring female jobseekers to undergo pregnancy testing.” It’s a practice explicitly prohibited in Chinese law, but it seems that some companies are “so worried about the costs of maternity leave and benefits” that they’re trying to take steps to ensure women aren’t knocked up before they’re brought on as employees. It was reportedly proven that at least one woman was denied employment when a test revealed she was pregnant.

Man Robbed Stores at Gunpoint, Then Posted Pics on Social Media

A 27-year old Charlotte man robbed two separate convenience stores at gunpoint. Thankfully, no one was hurt at either crime scene, but the crook was able to steal money from a register and got away with someone's purse. During both robberies he flashed the same gun and wore a red bandana face covering. Just one week after the robberies took place, Hasahn Riyardt Flowe led police right to his doorstep thanks to some pictures he posted on social media showing him with that same gun and wearing the same red bandana. When he was arrested, police found the firearm in his home. He pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to nearly 10 years behind bars.

Florida Man Jumps In Ocean Instead Of Giving Cops And Girlfriend His Phone Passcode

How far would you go to keep your girlfriend and the cops looking through your phone? A Florida man identified as AJ had an answer. Two female Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officers were questioning AJ and his girlfriend on a boat near Key West when they asked for the passcode to his phone to help with identification. Instead of giving it up, he jumped into the ocean and swam away. Unsurprisingly, the officers found that AJ had a warrant out for his arrest, and yes, they followed him through the water for a few minutes and then arrested him when he reached the shore. As his girlfriend was one of the people asking him for his passcode, it’s making people online wonder what else he was hiding on his phone.
