Green Day Kick Off North America Tour

Green Day's North American "Saviors Tour" is officially underway. The band kicked off the trek in Washington, D.C. on Monday night with 41-thousand fans in attendance. The tour bill features support from The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas. Green Day is celebrating the 30th and 20th anniversaries of their albums "Dookie" and "American Idiot" and they're playing both albums in full, along with other songs from their latest LP, "Saviors."

SAMMY HAGAR: Indeed He Is Finishing What He Started

Sammy Hagar, with 10 shows under his belt on The Best of All Worlds tour, couldn't be more pleased with the way it's going. "I'm so happy, overjoyed, with what we're doing with this band -- The Best of All Worlds band. This started off as a Sammy Hagar legacy tour and it's ended up a band. I don't know what to say other than I don't think anyone could do a better job of what we're doing at this time in history in our lives. We lost Eddie [Van Halen] so Mikey [Anthony] and I and these guys -- Jason [Bonham], Joe [Satriani] and Rai [Thistlethwayte]. We're just out there keeping the music live and alive. I hope you're enjoying it as much as we are." Monday night's show outside of Cleveland in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio experienced a power outage with the main speakers. So, Sammy led a singalong during "Cabo Wabo," and, using their stage amps, did a little jam until the situation was resolved. Sammy posted a video of the backstage jam before the show. The tour continues tonight (Wednesday) in Toronto. Hagar has been posting numerous videos from the road, including one in which he splits his pants backstage, and another of some backstage desserts. There's also a photo of him and the band being joined by REO Speedwagon's Kevin Cronin and Train's Pat Monahan on stage in Saratoga Springs, New York. They both sang on "When it's Love," and Monahan also came out for "Right Now." REO and Train are on tour together with their next show also tonight (Wednesday) in Syracuse, New York.

He passed away last year at 80-years-old. There’s a lot of people coming to pay their respects to the music legend…Trey Anastasio, Ryan Bingham, Mike Campbell, Eric Church, Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, Warren Haynes, and many many more will all appear. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday at 10AM Pacific Time.

BLONDIE: Rare Warhol Portrait of Harry Discovered

An extremely rare portrait of Debbie Harry of Blondie done by Andy Warhol is headed to the auction block. The artwork was made by Warhol in 1985 using an Amiga 1000 home computer as part of being an ambassador for Commodore computers. Warhol only made two of the portriats, with one going to Harry. She wrote in her memoir Face It that she had one of teh two copies in her archives. The New York Post reports that the second one was gifted to Commodore’s digital technician Jeff Bruette, who taught Warhol "how to use the then cutting-edge computer to create the portrait.” Bruette has now decided to sell the Harry portrait and an autographed Amiga disk that holds 10 digital image files created by Warhol. Early estimates have the package for selling well into the millions.

The Boss Not Affected By Billionaire Status

Forbes magazine recently revealed Bruce Springsteen has an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion but his longtime pal Little Steven is adamant "the money has absolutely no factor" on The Boss’ career decisions. Steven told The Independent newspaper: "I’m not sure how accurate that [Forbes report] is, first of all. But I don’t think it matters, honestly. The fact is: this is what we do. And so, the money has absolutely no factor. It hasn’t affected [him] for many, many years. Ever since, really, [1984 album] 'Born in the USA'. What’s that, 40 years? So no matter how many zeros are on the bank account, it doesn’t make any difference!" Steven also joked: "It’s great for me because I’m gonna definitely borrow some money, I tell you that. I’m joking, of course. My bookie’s gonna love him. I’m joking again!"

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: "New" Kid on the Block?

With Bruce Springsteen just wrapping up a tour of Europe and the UK, and with dates booked through next year, he's showing no signs of slowing down, despite turning 75 on September 23rd. E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt, in an interview with The Telegraph, says, "We treat every show like it could be the last show, and we’ve been doing that for 50 years.

“But the audience is still there, and we can see them getting younger every year. I don’t see the end anywhere in sight, to be honest. I love that The Rolling Stones are still out there. Because as long as they’re out there, man, we’re still the new kids on the block, right? So I’m good with that.” Springsteen starts another U.S. leg on August 15th in Pittsburgh.

FLEETWOOD MAC: It's Not a Mirage

The chances of Fleetwood Mac ever performing again are slim to none, so they've gone back into the archives for another concert release. This time it's 22 songs taken from two shows at The Forum in Inglewood, California (Los Angeles) in 1982 during their tour in support of their album from that year, Mirage. Mirage Tour '82 features six previously unreleased recordings from the October 21st, 1982 show, while the others were recorded at the October 22nd show and have appeared on various releases through the years, including Live Super Deluxe Edition (2021), Mirage Super Deluxe Edition (2016), and the 1983 concert video Mirage Live.

Mirage Tour '82 will be out on September 20th as a three-LP set, as two CDs, and in digital configurations. A special crystal-clear vinyl edition will be available exclusively at Amazon.

With this announcement comes an unreleased version of "Don't Stop."

In other Fleetwood Mac-related news, Mick Fleetwood will perform at the inaugural Maui Music & Food Experience, September 5th to the 7th, to raise crucial funding for food, housing and mental health support for survivors of the Lahaina fire of August 2023. Also performing will be Billy Cox from the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys in what promoters are saying "might be his final concert performance," Bernard Fowler and Daryl Jones from The Rolling Stones touring band, Ernie Isley, Ivan Neville, Charlie Sexton and many others.

Fleetwood lives on Maui and had his restaurant and retail store destroyed in the fire.

Elvis’ Acoustic Guitar Hitting Auction Block

An impressive piece of rock-and-roll history will be hitting the auction block next month. On August 25th, Rock Island Auction will be putting one of the last guitars ever played on stage by Elvis Presley up for bids. The exact dates of the shows it was played in aren’t known, but photographic evidence shows that it was used in “late 1976 and early 1977.” The C.F. Martin & Co. D-35 acoustic guitar has an estimated selling price of between $15K and $25K.

Pat Benatar To Reissue Three Classic Albums On Vinyl

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo are re-issuing three of their classic albums on vinyl! “Crimes Of Passion,” “In The Heat Of The Night,” and ”Precious Time” are all due out on September 13th. The vinyls will all come in two versions…a black and white edition, and a colored version. The color vinyl for “In The Heat Of The Night” will be tangerine. The color vinyl for “Crimes Of Passion” will be opaque magenta. The color vinyl for “Precious Time” will be opaque fruit punch.

Jon Bon Jovi Blames Taylor Swift For His Album Not Hitting Number One

Jon Bon Jovi has a bone to pick with Taylor Swift. The band Bond Jovi recently put out their album “Forever,” and it hit number five on the charts when it dropped. But as far as he’s concerned it should’ve hit number one…and its all Taylor Swift’s fault! "If it weren't for that pesky Taylor [Swift] girl, we would have been number one everywhere!" Bon Jovi joked in an interview. He took missing the top spot in stride, however, and noted that he’s happy the band is still successful after a long run. “It's astounding the relationship that we've had with this audience by and large for four decades. And we're not on the ‘Where Are They Now’ pile,” he added.

Ronnie Wood Paints Charlie Watts

The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood is celebrating his late bandmate, drummer Charlie Watts.

The rocker has just released two new prints of his artwork: “Beat,” a previously unreleased portrait of Watts, and “Miami Beat,” which is a companion set list of Charlie’s final show with the band. According to a description, the paintings are being released “in recognition of Charlie’s incredible contribution to The Stones from the very beginning until his tragic passing in 2021.” Only 295 individually named and numbered sets are available, with both unframed prints signed by Wood. They are currently available to order, at a price of $1,000 each. Watts passed away in 2021 at the age of 80.

Today is National Avocado Day

July 31st is National Avocado Day! No…this isn’t ‘national guacamole day,’ this day is devoted to the superfood – a fruit, actually – that makes guac possible. The avocado is so versatile, it can cover everything from the appetizer to the main dish…and all the way to dessert. It’s more than “just” food – ancient Aztecs used the avocado to beautify their skin with masks. Then in the early 20th century the cosmetic industry discovered the benefits of its oil in creams, lotions, facial cleansers and other products that required a smooth application. That practice continues today.

These U.S. Cities Will Pay You To Move There

Relocating can be pretty pricey, especially with high mortgage rates and inflation. But if you want to make a move and you’re flexible about where you go, several cities and suburbs across the country are offering incentives to entice new residents. They’ll pay you to move there, which could help cover moving expenses, and some throw in other perks, too.

According to Realtor.com, these cities are giving cash and other perks to new residents:

·Greater Rochester, New York - The program: Greater ROC Relocate

It offers up to $9-thousand in grants to buy a home in the nine-county region, as well as as much as $10-thousand in awards for people in specific career fields.

·Jacksonville, Illinois - The program: Make My Move

This program offers a package worth $9,300, which includes $5-thousand in cash after living there for 12 months, a one-year membership to a driving range, a teeth-whitening package and a three-month gym membership.

·Topeka, Kansas - The program: Choose Topeka

They’re offering up to $10-thousand for renting in the first year or up to $15-thousand to buy a home. Two other programs are also available, one offering $5-thousand to former Topeka residents and one giving $5-thousand to veterans transitioning out of the military.

·Tulsa, Oklahoma - The program: Tulsa Remote

It offers $10-thousand in rental grants or a $10-thousand lump sum payment after buying a qualifying home, and a three-year membership to a local co-working space.

·West Virginia - The program: Ascend WV

New residents can get a total of $12-thousand in cash incentives, the first $10-thousand comes in monthly payments during the first year and $2-thousand is paid after the second year. It also comes with access to a free co-working space and a one-year Digital Outdoor Recreation Pass that includes free gear rentals and activities like snowboarding and white-water rafting.

Ozempic May Help Smokers Break The Habit

Smokers who take Ozempic or Wegovy for diabetes or weight loss may experience an unexpected side effect - help breaking the habit. A new study finds that semaglutide, the active ingredient in these drugs, could also help people quit smoking.

Researchers with Case Western Reserve University in Ohio and the National Institute on Drug Abuse looked into the way semaglutide affects tobacco addiction.

·They compared its impact to that of seven other diabetes medications, including injectable insulin, by analyzing data on nearly 233-thousand new users of the drugs

·They found that fewer people taking semaglutide tried to get medical help to quit smoking.

·Semaglutide users were 32% less likely to have medical visits related to tobacco use disorder than those taking other anti-diabetes drugs.

·Those taking semaglutide were also less likely than people on other anti-diabetes drugs to be prescribed drugs to help them quit smoking or to be referred to counseling for it.

·The biggest effect happened within 30 days of starting semaglutide, but continued for around 180 days, then leveled off.

Study authors decided to research how the medication affects smoking after multiple reports of people taking it said they didn’t want to smoke as much. It’s only an observational study, so there’s no proof that semaglutide is responsible for them quitting, but researchers point out that it’s important because smoking is the top preventable cause of early death. And since close to 12% of U.S. adults smoke, this could help a lot of them kick the habit.

The Most In-Demand Airline Seats Travelers Want To Book

What’s your favorite seat on a flight? Sometimes we have no choice about where we end up on a flight, but new research suggests a lot of people would go for the same seat, given the option. Travel site Upgraded Points recently polled 3,142 U.S. travelers to find out the most sought-after seats on an airplane, as well as other flight preferences and pet peeves.

·According to the survey, the most in-demand seat is 1A, a first-class bulkhead window seat.

·That’s really not all that surprising since it comes with “ample legroom, easy restroom access, a window view and the perk of being one of the first on and off the plane,” Upgraded Points reports.

·Seats 7A and 7F are a close second and third, as these coach seats also offer plenty of legroom and are window seats.

·Overall, the survey finds that two-thirds (66.6%) of people prefer a window seat, compared to 31.7% who like an aisle seat and just 1.7% who go for the middle seat.

·When it comes to exit rows, 41% of respondents say they’re “willing to accept the added responsibility of sitting in an exit row for the extra legroom and the peace of mind from being near

·a quick exit in case of an emergency.”

·But legroom isn’t the only thing people consider when selecting a seat, as 41% say their safety is a factor and 66% believe the middle seat is the safest and experiences the least turbulence.

·Overall, 60% of travelers would be willing to pay to be able to choose their seat in advance and they’d pay an average of $33.59 for the perk.

Parents Are Spending Over $300 On Kids’ Birthday Parties

Do you feel like the cost of children’s birthday parties is out of control? Between the location, the cake, the entertainment and the party favors, some moms and dads are forking out a fortune to celebrate their little ones and new research reveals just how much they’re spending.

·A survey of 404 women who were pregnant or have at least one child age five or younger reveals:

·Parents spend an average of $314 on their kid’s birthday party.

·While the party typically costs less for younger kids, that price tag goes up as the kids get older.

·Birthday parties for one- to two-year-olds cost an average of $279, but those for kids between six and nine average $344.

·While some parents spend a lot less, as little as $10 for a “small DIY family affair,” others go all out.

·Overall, 20% of parents say they spend over $500 on kids’ parties.

·And one parent in the survey spent $7-thousand on their child’s party, which included catering, entertainment and a professional photographer.

·Millennial moms (between the ages of 28 and 43) tend to spend more, around $329, while Gen Z moms (those 27 and younger) spend about $276, according to the survey.

"We’ve noticed a clear trend toward birthday parties for children becoming bigger and more elaborate," explains Robin Hilmantel, senior director of editorial strategy at parenting site What to Expect. "This is driven largely by social media, which has inspired parents to throw parties with tons of on-theme decorations, foods, and party favors."

Disney Is Launching A Heroes And Villains-Themed Cruise

It will set sail in late 2025 and operate out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While itinerary details are still under wraps, Disney reveals that the design of everything from the cabins to the restaurants is inspired by Pixar, Marvel and Disney characters and movies including “Brave,” “Hercules,” “The Incredibles,” and “Fantasia.” Passengers can also enjoy a “Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King” dining experience with live music and storytelling.

The Pros And Cons Of Marathon Sex

If you ask twenty different guys what it means to have a “marathon” sex session, you’ll probably get twenty different answers. If a guy’s average is 30 minutes, start-to-finish (including foreplay and aftercare), then two hours might be a marathon. If a guy’s routine makes an hour-long event out of it, then twelve hours might be a “marathon” to him. No matter what a “marathon” is to you, what remains consistent are the basic pros and cons when it comes to “marathon” sex sessions.

PRO

·A longer session means more time spent together and can be a nice derivation if it seems like the sexual relationship between you and your partner has gotten into “sprint” mode too often

·Marathon sex requires listening and communication, and that can’t help but form a deeper connection between the two of you

·Marathon sex can create more of a build-up, which…in turn…can result in more intense orgasms

CON

·Marathon sex isn’t necessarily going to be “better” sex, and it might come with “pressure” to act like you’re enjoying it more than you are. Get on the same page when it comes to your “long game” marathon plans and set realistic expectations between the two of you

·It’s a time commitment, and that can be challenging when both people involved have busy schedules

·If you haven’t developed that level of “vulnerability and trust,” a marathon sex session could backfire on you

·If you’re not in the physical shape to handle it, you could over-exert yourself, hurt yourself, or just plain embarrass yourself

If you’re going to give a marathon bone session a go, here are a few helpful tips…

·Plan ahead, clear the schedules, eliminate distractions, and make sure you’re both on board

·Set the mood with lighting, candles, oils, music, or whatever else makes the environment perfect for long-term intimacy

·Talking about turn-ons is a never-fail proposition, pay attention and follow that attention up with action

·Taking a shower or bath together gives you a break, but still keeps things intimate

·Massages are awesome and everyone loves them. Break out the oil and pay attention to the moans and sighs so you know the spots you’re hitting just right…and don’t forget to ask for directions to make the job easier

·Get your mouth moving, whether it’s sweet talk, dirty talk, kissing, licking, sucking, or whatever else comes to mind

·When it comes to penetration, stick with positions where you know you’ll last longer or aren’t extraordinarily exerting…it’s a marathon, not a sprint

·Even after an all-nighter, aftercare is preferable to just saying “I’m done” and falling asleep

Deepfake Scammers Tried To Infiltrate Ferrari

Back in February, deepfake scammers managed to take a Hong Kong-based corporate CFO for over $25 million. Recently, that same kind of scam was tried, but failed, with Ferrari. A “high-level Ferrari NV executive” was contacted by someone pretending to be CEO Benedetto Vigna. During a video call, however, the ruse was busted when the exec asked the deepfake Vigna a question that only the true CEO would know the answer to. Paying attention to other red flags also helped, including the fact that Vigna was calling from an unknown number and vocal intonations and mannerisms seemed “off” and “slightly mechanical.” The bottom line is that scammers are always ahead of the curve, and you need to pay attention, especially when money’s on the line.

McDonald’s Employee Allegedly Pours 'Expired Milk' into Shake Machine, Revolting Customers

McDonald’s customers are disgusted after seeing a video of an employee allegedly dumping expired milk into a milkshake machine. TikTok user @tel2raww posted the video, claiming their general manager instructed them to use the expired dairy product to save money. "POV: When your GM tells you to put the expired milk in the milkshake machine," the text over the clip reads. The caption added, "He's trying to kill somebody." Chunks of coagulated milk, resembling cottage cheese, are seen being squeezed into the machine. The comment section was filled with shocked reactions. “This is actually insane,” one user commented. Other users, claiming to work at McDonald’s, said they do use milk close to expiration to avoid waste, but not when it's visibly bad.

Homeowner Finds Family Using Her Pool, Gets Shocking Response

Maryse Chaussé was stunned to find a family using her private swimming pool. The strangers claimed they rented the pool for $35 via the app “Swimply,” listed by a former tenant who moved out in 2022. Chaussé reported the ad to the app, which was promptly removed. She also contacted the police but was told no action could be taken as there was no criminal intent. Concerned about future incidents, Chaussé is considering installing a locked fence. "I don't want to spend my summer watching my yard," she explained. Swimply is an app for renting pools and other spaces, with over 25,000 listings and a $1 million insurance policy for hosts.

Man's 50lb Weight Loss Revealed Deadly Organism Inside Him

A 61-year-old Florida man lost 50lbs without trying and discovered it was due to a deadly fungus inside him that is normally found in bat feces. He went to the hospital after experiencing night sweats, fatigue, and fever for 10 months. Tests showed his fungus levels were 25 times the detectable limit, affecting his heart, spleen, and adrenal glands. Doctors noted he was lucky to be alive, as a bad infection is 100% fatal if untreated. The man, a building supervisor with a farm, hadn't been in contact with bats or birds but may have encountered infected soil. After heart surgeries and anti-fungal treatment, his symptoms improved. The Department of Health is testing his farm's soil to confirm if that was the source of the fungus.

Pro Tip: Don’t Ride A Motorcycle With A Pit Bull On Your Lap And Drugs On You

Conestga, Pennsylvania’s Devin Yake has been arrested for a bevy of traffic violations and on active warrants after cops stopped him while cruising around on his motorcycle. First off, cops saw Yake tooling around on his motorcycle with “a large dog on his lap,” later identified as a “very friendly pit bull.” Yake allegedly added to his problems with “careless driving, failing to use turn signals, driving too fast, failing to stop for a stop sign, and not having a registration plate.” The fun didn’t end there, though. Cops also report that Yake had a sock full of meth, as well as “marijuana and other paraphernalia,” and “appeared to be under the influence of drugs” at the time of his arrest. At least the dog was friendly, though.

City Official Busted For DUI Asks Cops If They Have “Something Better To Do”

Here’s some friendly unsolicited advice for everyone out there…if a cop comes in your direction and asks you questions, the proper response is never, “Don’t you have something better to do?” It’ll rarely work out to your advantage…even if the answer is “yes.” Marco Island, Florida Vice Chairman Erik Brechnitz is now facing DUI charges after police “found him asleep in his vehicle in a parking garage” at just after two in the afternoon last Friday. Brechnitz said he was “tired” from “playing tennis” earlier that day, and witnesses say he’d been “unconscious for about an hour and wouldn’t wake up despite knocking on the window.” Cops suggested EMS evaluation due to his “bloodshot eyes, confusion, and the smell of alcohol on his breath,” but Brechnitz reportedly tried to leave “because his wife was sick” and then advised the police to “not be stupid.” It was after the “Don’t you have something better to do?” comment that the field sobriety test was issued.

Inflation Isn’t Stopping Americans From Splurging On Their Pets

From groceries to rent, everything is more expensive, but that doesn’t mean our pets aren’t still worth splurging on. Pew Research Center has found, not surprisingly, that 97% of Americans consider their pets as “part of the family”…and spoiling those family members “makes them feel good.” So, when it comes to our pets, inflation doesn’t seem to be as much of a factor, especially when you consider that prices for pets and pet-related products have surged over 25% over the last five years…and veterinary services have gone up more than 38%. Then, there are the pet owners who go to fast food restaurants to give their animals an overpriced "treat."

MLB Trade Deadline Winners And Losers

At 6:00 pm ET yesterday evening, the MLB trade deadline expired. Now, it’s the baseball pundits’ turn to decide who were the big winners and losers during this season’s dealing.

WINNERS

·Miami Marlins – Sure, they lost five players, including Jazz Chisholm, Jr. and Tanner Scott, but the players they received in return give reason to be optimistic about the team’s future

·Toronto Blue Jays – Jake Bloss and Joey Loperfido are day-one contributors, and Jonatan Clase has loads of potential at the plate

·Jazz Chisholm, Jr. – Will get plenty of the spotlight he craves as part of the New York Yankees, without the pressure of being the “face” of the team

·Los Angeles Dodgers – Counting on their starting rotation to stay healthy is a risk, and they did nothing to bolster it…until a last-minute deal to get Jack Flaherty from Detroit, which should help ease the burden

LOSERS

·Tampa Bay Rays – The value received in the deals they made wasn’t up to the level of what they gave up

·Houston Astros – With the American League wide open, this was a chance to make a splash…instead, the moves they made were “uninspiring”
