JOURNEY: Just Won't Leave Home Without It

Journey's Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain are once again at odds. Cain has filed another lawsuit against his bandmate, once again claiming he is foot loose and fancy free with the band's American Express card.

According to papers filed in Delaware's Chancery Court, Schon has maxed out the account with a one-million-dollar limit by exceeding a daily hotel fee cap of $1,500 by spending "up to $10,000 per night." In addition, the suit claims that debt payments have been blocked, and they couldn't pay their crew and production company on their current stadium tour with Def Leppard.

Cain's lawyers argue that these "unforeseen strains on cash flow pose a severe threat of harm to the company and to Journey's storied history of musical greatness." This latest incident is also "impacting the band’s reputation throughout the music industry. The band's actual onstage performance is, at the moment, one of the only aspects of the business that has not suffered." Cain's lawyers want to restructure Freedom 2020 Inc., which he co-founded with Schon to oversee Journey's touring operations. They are petitioning for a court-ordered custodian to act as a third board member, along with Cain and Schon, in order to break tie votes. Schon has not commented on this suit, which is the second time Cain has done so due to overspending. The first was in 2022.

JOHN LENNON: Friend Buys Specs

A pair of John Lennon’s tinted round glasses were sold at auction in Surrey, England Wednesday, and the buyer is illusionist Uri Geller. He tells the BBC he was “elated” with his purchase. “John Lennon and I were very good friends while we were living in New York in the 1970s. I knew I had to buy these glasses. I would have gone up to £500,000 ($636,000). Glasses are a passage into our soul, into our psyche.” He paid just under $51,000 for them.

Geller, who also owns a lock of Lennon's hair and a sketch he made of a UFO, plans to display the glasses in his own museum in his hometown of Tel Aviv, Israel. Lennon gave the glasses, with blue-tinted lenses, to a man who was visiting Abbey Road Studios in 1968.

John Mayer To Perform With Dead & Company Despite Injured Finger

John Mayer says he isn’t going to let a little thing like an injured finger stop him from performing with Dead and Company at the Las Vegas Sphere. After all, he’s got seven good fingers -- and two thumbs -- left. Mayer, who recently slammed his left index finger in the door of a truck, says he initially thought he’d be forced to bail on the gig. "The first thing that went through my mind was, 'I really need that finger in a week,'" he writes on Instagram. “I need all my fingers, but the left index is the team captain of my fretting hand. It will heal just fine, but will be out of commission for a while.”

But instead of pulling the plug on the residency, Mayer’s been taking the only other approach to dealing with this problem: He’s been learning to play guitar without his injured finger. “I have spent every day practicing guitar using the other three fingers and I think I have it sounding pretty good,” he says. “I’ve always felt like every part of me belongs to these shows, and it’s my responsibility to return to the stage.”

Dead and Company kick off the second-to-last weekend of their Dead Forever residency at the Sphere on Thursday.

Rush Played Their Final Show 9 Years Ago

Yesterday (Thursday) marked nine years since Rush brought their epic career to a close.

On August 1st, 2015, the band played its final show at The Forum in Inglewood, CA. The set list included a whopping 26 songs, ending with the traditional set closer "Working Man". The trio never shared a stage again as Neil Peart died in January 2020 and Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have vowed never to peform as Rush again.

GROUPLOVE, ALLMAN BROTHERS: A Concert for Carter's 100th

A concert celebrating former President Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday is set for September 17th at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration In Song will have performances by Grouplove, Maren Morris, Drive-By Truckers, Eric Church, The War and Treaty and former Allman Brothers Band keyboardist and current Rolling Stones tour keyboardist and musical director Chuck Leavell. Carter had a close relationship with the Allmans during his time as Georgia's governor and as president. Sean Penn and former Atlanta Braves star Dale Murphy are among the hosts for the concert. Carter, who is the longest-living president, turns 100 on October 1st. He's been out of the public eye since entering hospice care in February 2023.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Planning New Album In Tribute Of Late Guitarist Cary Rossington

Lynyrd Skynyrd's Rickey Medlocke is revealing some of the band's plans for a new album. In a new interview with a New York rock radio station, Medlocke said the album will serve as a tribute to founding Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington, who passed away in March 2023. He said the band plans to turn their focus towards the project after wrapping up their 2024 tour commitments. According to Medlocke, the album will feature a lot of material that the band worked on with Rossington over the years.

EDDIE VAN HALEN: Poundcake Yes, Pancake No

Eddie Van Halen may be considered one of the all-time great guitarists, but even he had difficulty playing certain songs. One in particular was Frank Zappa's "St. Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast."

Frank's son Dweezil says, "There was this really interesting, fun experience where he came to one of my shows back in 2010, and we were playing that song, 'St. Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast.' “After the show, he came up [and] he said, ‘What's that pancake song? What are you playing there?’ and I had to play this really difficult part [and] show it to him on the guitar.

“And he said, ‘I don't even understand how you're playing. I can never play that.’ So in that moment, it was a total role reversal. Because me, as a 12-year-old, I was saying, ‘Play "Eruption," play "Mean Street,"' thinking I could never play that. So I had this complete oddball experience in that moment, it was like the Jedi mind trick or something. It was very strange.” Eddie co-produced then-12-year-old Dweezil's first song, 1982's "My Mother Is a Space Cadet."\

Dweezil starts his Rox(Postroph)y tour, in celebration of the 50th anniversary his late dad's Roxy & Elsewhere and Apostrophe albums, both released in 1974, tonight (Thursday) in Phoenix. He'll be in El Cajon, California on Friday, Los Angeles Saturday and San Francisco Sunday.

Stephen Pearcy Slams Today's Music

Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy is slamming modern music. In a new interview, Pearcy was asked about the Geico commercial where Ratt was featured. He responded, “Our shows now have parents and their kids. Their kids are doing it right, okay? Introducing them because there’s a lot of sh*t out there it’s like thrown out there if it sticks. But this kind of music… 80s music is really a special thing. I mean the real sh*t. We came from the strip. There’s nothing like it ever and there never will be again.”

Gavin Rossdale Talks New Bush Music

Gavin Rossdale says a new Bush album is coming. In a new interview, Rossdale said, “We've done a new Bush record. [We've] recorded 10 songs." Rossdale says the tracks are all recorded and are ready to be mixed. He also said the band considered releasing a new single ahead of their tour with Jerry Cantrell, but they ended up deciding they didn't want to take attention away from the band's recent greatest hits compilation, “Loaded.”

Airlines With The Best In-Flight Food

Back in the “Golden Age of Travel,” in the 1950s to 1970s, flying was glamorous and airplanes were luxurious. Passengers got dressed up and could enjoy cocktail lounges, champagne and five course meals on board. These days, the in-flight meal experience is definitely different, but what you’re served and how good it is all depends on the airline and new research highlights which ones are doing the best job.

·MoneySuperMarket’s new study reveals the airlines with the best in-flight meals.

·Their travel insurance team analyzed more than 27-thousand passenger reviews of meals from over 100 airlines.

·Kuwait Airways is number one, earning high scores for the range of meal options offered, from multi-course economy meals to lobster, shrimp and beef specialities in their “Royal Class” service.

·The Middle East dominates the list, claiming the top four spots.

The Most Common Things Americans Forget When Traveling

Taking a vacation can be wonderfully relaxing, right up until you realize you forgot something essential at home. It happens to the best of us, as a new survey finds that nine in 10 Americans admit they’ve had a “Home Alone” moment - figuring out they left something important behind while en route to their destination.

Luckily, most folks aren’t forgetting their kids at home, but the poll reveals the way people prepare and plan for trips - or don’t. According to the survey of 2-thousand U.S. adults:

·The most inconvenient things they’ve forgotten include a charger (34%), toiletries and beauty products (32%), sunscreen (27%) and medication (18%).

·The list also includes socks (17%), water bottles (14%) and even their wallet (8%).

·This may be because 37% of people say they’re more forgetful when traveling, leaving an average of three items behind on every trip.

·Forgetting essentials negatively impacts the trip for 42% of travelers, since they have to spend more money (27%), buy alternate products (25%) and just don’t feel their best (10%).

·But 89% say they’ve learned from their mistakes and are trying to be more prepared than ever for their summer travels.

·Some respondents say their good habits get derailed when they’re traveling, like healthy eating (51%), budgeting (44%) and even staying hydrated (31%).

·The upside? For 31%, they’re just more focused on having fun than sticking to their usual routine.

·Nearly a quarter (23%) of travelers are fortunate to have a “mom friend” with them - someone who keeps the group together, reminds everyone to eat and drink, and has supplies on hand, including napkins or Band-Aids (40%).

PornHub Sees Huge Spike In Olympics Searches Since Start Of Summer Games

The Paris Olympics have led to a significant boost in searches for Olympic-themed videos on Pornhub. The spike began after the opening ceremony, with searches for the term “Olympics” reportedly climbing by 4,876% and “athlete” increasing by 505%. This surge in interest parallels the infamous reputation of the athletes' village as a hotspot for sexual activities, despite the use of “anti-sex” beds. Organizers have provided various sex-related resources, including free condoms and a medical clinic, to manage any potential consequences.

Many Are Shocked To Learn There’s No Alcohol At The Paris Olympics

Some fans at the Paris Olympics are surprised and disappointed to find that alcohol is not being served at the venues, except in VIP lounges. This decision is due to a 1991 French law restricting alcohol sales at large events to help combat substance abuse. The Olympics could have applied for an exemption like the one the Rugby World Cup received last year, but chose not to. The policy has left many American visitors particularly puzzled, as they associate alcohol with sports events. Despite the initial shock, most attendees are still enjoying the games, with some opting to have drinks before or after the events.

Spirit Halloween Stores Are Now Opening Across The Country

Spooky shopping season has officially started with Spirit Halloween stores beginning to open across the country. The company’s flagship location in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, opened earlier this week and offered swag bags and early access to new merchandise. Over 15-hundred additional locations will open throughout the month. Shoppers can find their nearest store on the Spirit Halloween website or shop online year-round for costumes and decorations.

Mutilated Alligator Corpses Mysteriously Appearing in Florida Canal

Headless, limbless alligator carcasses have been showing up in Florida canals, and state officials have no idea why. Over the weekend, Jason Weidner and his wife found one of the dismembered gators in the Caribbean Canal in Fort Myers. "My wife and I went for a little boat cruise on Saturday evening and we saw something floating in the middle of the canal here," Weidner pointed. At first, he thought it was a big fish, but the smell made him realize it was a rotting gator. He continued, "medium-sized alligator that the head was missing, the tail was missing, the feet were missing."

Another neighbor, Jim Jahnke, said it's not the first time he's seen something like this, adding, "I wish I could find out who it was that was dumping them in there." In case it is a human doing these acts, the Gaming Commission reminds people that anyone caught abusing wildlife could get four years of prison time and fines.

Scientists Propose Storing Endangered Animal Samples on the Moon

Elon Musk wants to put people on the moon or Mars to save humanity from a global disaster, but what about our wildlife? Scientists have a plan to create a collection of frozen cells from millions of species, like mammals, reptiles, birds, and amphibians, and put it on the moon to safeguard Earth's animals. That way, if everything on Earth was wiped out one day, these cells could hopefully be cloned to create new life – either on Earth, the moon, or another planet. "Our ultimate goal would be to cryopreserve most species on Earth," says Mary Hagedorn, a cryobiologist.

Why send it to the moon? Well, the moon is far enough from Earth to survive a climate disaster and cold enough to keep samples frozen without electricity. The first samples could be sent to the moon with astronauts on future NASA missions. This project will be very expensive to run and will need cooperation from other countries in order to succeed and protect Earth's creatures. Scientists are just trying to figure out what they can do to prevent anything from becoming extinct, and to them, this seems like a good plan.

Sunburn Makeup Is the New Gen Z Trend

Gen Z is loving a new blush trend going around on TikTok that gives a sunburned look instead of a sun-kissed one. Celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter and Hailey Bieber are known for their doll-like pink cheeks and fans are taking note. Influencer Rachel Carlisle showed off her routine, packing on bright rouge before foundation for that sunburned effect. Some people think it looks crazy, but others love it like creator Kim Lloyd who shared “It’s a safe way to get a sun-induced glow without the sun damage.” Isabell Rose, another TikTok creator, even mimics tan lines around her eyes and on her décolletage. Hailey Bieber noted, "You can always start with less and see how it feels for you... blushes are very buildable." While it’s possible that the blush boom might fizzle in seasons to come, experts believe the trend will stick around for a while.

Elon Musk Accepts Challenge To Fight Venezuelan Prez On National Television

Elon Musk is talking about another fight, but who knows if this one will happen, either. After challenging the results of the Venezuelan election, Musk and President Nicolas Maduro got into a verbal pissing contest on X. During their exchange, Maduro accused Musk of wanting to “invade with his space rockets” and “declared war” on him. Eventually, those words intensified to the point where a challenge of a fight was thrown down, which would theoretically be televised nationally. Musk accepted the fight challenge, but no date or specifics have been given…and the smart money is that this moment of stupidity will disappear…much like that alleged fight between Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

Pro Tip: Don’t Bathe In Public Fountains

We are now officially in the era of clueless tourists doing stupid crap during their international travels. Perhaps we were always there, but now smartphones and social media are there to capture it all. In Florence, Italy, a female tourist was caught on camera “bathing topless” in a fountain. In the video, the unnamed woman can be heard speaking English and encouraging others to join her. The video has drawn fierce criticism from locals, who say this type of behavior has gotten “out of control.”

100-Plus Fight Breaks Out At New York Funeral Home

Nothing says “let’s remember our loved ones” like a 100-person brawl at the funeral home where they’re being memorialized. During a visitation at Marra’s Funeral Home in Cohoes, New York, a massive brawl broke out involving more than 100 people. Multiple police agencies had to be dispatched to get things under control, and seven of the participants ended up being arrested. And this all went down the day before the actual funeral…which had to be all kinds of fun.

Lawyer Charged For Trying To Sneak Drugs Into Jail

You know your lawyer’s working for you when they try to sneak you drugs while you’re in jail. Unsealed documents from a Rhode Island federal court accuse attorney Theresa DiJoseph of “participating in a scheme to smuggle contraband” to two individuals in lock-up. Allegedly, detainee Samuel Douglas arranged for his sister to meet up with DiJoseph, where she was to be given “ten sheets of paper soaked in synthetic marijuana. Officers reportedly seized the paper when DiJoseph was visiting another inmate, Shawn Hart, later that day…after using her lawyer credentials to meet with Hart in a room “without a plexiglass screen.” DiJoseph and the sister, Hanasa Stedford, were both arrested.

Three-Person Geriatric Crime Gang Has Combined Age Of 227

In Japan, authorities have a rested a three-man geriatric gang of men they say broke into two homes…and they suspect were involved with ten other burglaries. The combined age of the three burglars is 227-years old, with the oldest being 80. Cops dubbed the trio “GS3,” and say the two break-ins resulted in losses of over one million in yen and jewelry…that’s over $6,400 American, in case you’re wondering.

2 Arrested After Bland Chicken Sparks Brawl Involving Gun, Knife, and Bug Spray

Two siblings in South Carolina got into a brawl over unseasoned chicken, leading to assault charges. It all started when Hope Harper asked her brother Anthony why he didn’t season the chicken and then called him “a dumb dog” when he said he thought their grandmother would do it. Anthony then shoved Hope into a table and punched her “about five times.” Things escalated when someone fired a gun into the ceiling, and Hope grabbed a knife, prompting Anthony to run to the grandmother's room. Their grandmother got mad and came after both of them with a broom. Anthony grabbed a can of bug spray and got Hope in the face and neck. She wrestled it out of his hands and sprayed him back. Both were arrested and charged with assault but were later released on bond.

Fake South Florida Insurance Agent Arrested Again

A man named William Edwin Diehl Jr., was arrested in January for selling fake insurance policies in Miami. He clearly didn't learn his lesson because he was arrested again on Wednesday for four more felony counts after more victims came forward. Diehl had pleaded guilty in April to acting as an insurance agent without a license and was on probation. Despite his initial arrest, Diehl allegedly sold at least one fraudulent policy in February. One victim received a notice from Progressive Insurance stating that their “policy appears to have been improperly purchased and/or serviced through an unauthorized agent/broker.” He's currently being held without bond.

The Bears defeated the Texans in a storm-shortened Hall of Fame game in Canton. Chicago downed Houston 21-17 in a game that was stopped with 3:31 remaining in the third quarter and was called off following a 36-minute delay. Chicago's starting QB Brett Rypien [[ rip-in ]] completed 11-of-15 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Houston's starting QB Davis Mills had 102 passing yards and a touchdown, while Case Keenum finished with 78 yards and a TD in the losing effort.

Judge Sides With NFL & Overturns Sunday Ticket Verdict

A jury’s $4.7 billion verdict against the NFL in a class-action lawsuit filed by subscribers of “Sunday Ticket” has been overturned. U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez cited the testimony of two witnesses for the subscribers that he felt had “flawed methodologies and should have been excluded.” At the end of his ruling, Gutierrez said that, without those two witnesses, “no reasonable jury could have found class-wide injury or damages.” In a statement, the NFL expressed gratitude for the judge's ruling. Don’t be surprised if the plaintiffs end up filing an appeal to the 9th Circuit.

OJ Simpson Estate Auctioning Off Heisman Trophy

The estate of O.J. Simpson has decided to auction off memorabilia from “The Juice” to help pay off money owed to the family of Ron Goldman. Items that’ll be up for bids in this round of auctioning will include Simpson’s golf clubs, his SUV, his personal driver’s license,…and…his Heisman Trophy. Late last week, a judge agreed to a proposal from the Simpson estate to “auction off unique and high-end personal property…to help pay a portion of the money owed to the family of Goldman.” Simpson was acquitted of the murder of Goldman and ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, but was found liable for their deaths in a civil suit and ordered to pay $33.5 million to Goldman’s family. At the time of his death, Simpson had reportedly paid “very little” of that court-ordered restitution.

Ten Sports Not In The Summer Olympics, But Should Be

In the 2024 Paris Olympics, there will be 31 different sports represented in 329 events. While there’s plenty of variety and something for everyone to enjoy, there’s always room for improvement. Here are ten sports that aren’t currently represented…but should be.

·Baseball – It was there between 1992 and 2008, returned in 2020, but then disappeared again. It’ll be back for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, and there’s talk that active MLB players could be in the mix if it can be worked out during the regular season

·Softball – It’ll also be back in 2028, and probably in 2032’s Games in Australia

·4x100 Mixed Relay – A mixed 4x400 relay premiered in 2020’s Tokyo Games, but a 4x100 would add some energy to what’s already arguably the most captivating track and field event

·Lacrosse – It’s taking off in the U.S., as well as the rest of the world. A version of the sport will be played in 2028, but the full version would be ideal

·T20 Cricket – Another sport that’ll be seen in 2028, it’s a shortened form of the game that fits each match into a three-and-a-half-hour window

·Squash – It’s played in 185 countries and will also be featured in Los Angeles in 2028.

·Men’s Balance Beam – Gymnastics is always one of the biggest hits of the Olympics, with the balance beam always bringing high drama. Giving the guys a shot would be a draw

·Ultimate Frisbee – Once purely recreational, now over 100 countries have national teams and World Championships held every four years

·Team Golf – After a century-long layoff, golf returned to the Olympics in 2016. Having combined team scores, or even mixed teams, would give the sport a bigger profile on the Olympic stage

·Tug Of War – It was a staple of the games between 1900 and 1920…and it needs to come back…simply because everyone would love it

Honorable Mention – Competitive Pole Dancing…just because.
