When Foo Fighters began touring again after Taylor Hawkins' passing, they dedicated the song "Aurora" to the late drummer at every show. The thoughtful move made fans assume that was his favorite song by the Foos; however, his son Shane recently claimed "that's a lie."
The 17-year-old drummer participated in a drum clinic at The Dead Famous bar in Newquay, England on May 29 and before performing explained how “people say that song ‘Aurora’ was [Taylor's] favorite to play, but that’s a lie.” He then revealed that "Low" off One by One was actually his dad's favorite song to play live but it rarely made it on the setlist. Shane went on to speculate why he thought frontman Dave Grohl didn't like to perform the 2002 track, admitting it was hard to play on guitar. Then, he played the drum part of that song for the audience.

Foo Fighters recently fired drummer Josh Freese, who replaced Taylor after his death. Fans thought Shane would take his place but the young drummer recently announced that he would be joining his dad's cover band Chevy Metal on the road this summer. The Foos have yet to announce their new drummer. As of now, they only have one show planned for 2025 — a set at the Singapore Grand Prix on October 4. They last played live on August 18, 2024 at Seattle's T-Mobile Park.
