#FloridaMan "Allegedly" Steals $10,000 R2D2 From Disney World

A Florida man is facing a laundry list of charges after he reportedly posed as a security guard and stole a $10,000 statue of R2-D2 from Disney World.

The incident happened back on May 31st, after Kissimmee resident David Proudfoot showed up at Disney's Swan Reserve Hotel dressed like a member of Disney's security team, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office. In addition to taking the R2-D2 statue, the 44-year-old Proudfoot is also accused of "moving a game machine," sheriff's officials say.

When approached by sheriff's deputies, Proudfoot told them he wasn't really trying to steal the items; instead, he was only trying to show Disney how weak its security was in hopes of snagging himself a new job. Clearly, they didn't buy his story. Proudfoot is now facing charges of third-degree grand theft, petty theft, burglary, tampering with a coin-operated machine and scheming to defraud, court documents reveal.
